Never been to most of these. Next try Starters. I usually cook my own meals.

Thank you for the reviews! I guess I need to broaden my horizons. I don’t even know where I’d start (although you did suggest one place to do just that.) I’m a serious spice head and the goat shank reminded me of many meals in Jamaica.
Your writing is fantastic, by the way. The most readable reviews I’ve read in a long time. A suggestion: make the photos enlargeable so I don’t have to take a picture and then zoom. 😳😎 You two obviously have fun. Cheers!

As a native Detroiter, I’ll not hesitate to admit that a huge majority of these restaurants I’ve never heard of, only a literal few. But I’ll be sure to check them out! I sent this entry to my wife, and hopefully we’ll be hitting the streets of “The “D””!

    Vive Le De’ Troit!

I’m from the South(ATL),but if there is a non- Southern region that I would trust with my food the most,it would be the mid west.

How some of them cook reminds me of the South. My cousin..who is also from Atlanta, visits Chicago a lot on business trips and she seems to be quite satisfied with all of the food she devours when she returns.

There is also a BBQ food truck/ restaurant that is in Tyrone, Georgia ( I believe) called the Ohio Hog Company. I believe that it’s Black owned and the family are from Ohio.

I want/ plan on going there whenever I go to visit my kin. The food looks pretty good.. though it can be another story eating it.Praying and hoping for good food

Did you make it to Petty Cash? It’d make my top 10 for sure. Love this list tho. Some amazing food and GREAT people.
